Four beers. Four laps. One mile. The Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve Beer Mile is back for round six!
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, runners will take over Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve at 2182 Seneca St. in Buffalo for a one-mile challenge that puts both running speed and drinking skills to the test.
How Does a Beer Mile Work?
The concept is simple, but completing it might be a different story.
Participants will start by drinking one 12 oz. Genesee Cream Ale before heading out for a roughly quarter-mile lap. Then it’s back to the drinking area for another beer before taking on another lap.
Beer. Lap. Beer. Lap. Beer. Lap. Beer. Lap.
By the time you cross the finish line, you’ll have completed four laps, four beers, and one unforgettable mile.
Three Heats, Only 90 Spots
This year’s Beer Mile will be limited to 90 participants, split between three heats of 30 runners:
- 10:00 AM
- 10:30 AM
- 11:00 AM
Participants will select their preferred heat during registration. With a limited field, we recommend signing up early to secure your spot.
The Course
Each roughly quarter-mile lap will take participants through the parking lots and sidewalks surrounding Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve. All runners must stay on the designated course, and running in the road will not be permitted.
This will primarily be a self-timed event, with a time clock available for runners to track their laps and finishing times. Official times will be recorded for the first male and first female to cross the finish line.

The overall male and female winners with the fastest times across all three heats will each receive head-to-toe gear from Brooks Running.

The Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve Beer Mile is open to participants 21 years of age and older, with age verification required at the event.
Participants are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and participate responsibly. Bring a designated driver, use public transportation, or arrange a rideshare. Uber coupon voucher codes will also be available on event day.
